Andy Firth was a proud Yorkshireman and member of Sydney Bowmen. He was a keen longbow shooter and competed in several ANSW tournaments at both club and state level. At the 2009 World Masters Games in Sydney, he earned one gold and four silver medals. Andy had a great love of Traditional archery and attended most events at Wisemans’ Ferry. He was also a master fletcher, making some truly beautiful arrows – including one set which had fletches representing his name in barcode. Some examples of his work have been incorporated into the Andy Firth trophy. Andy passed away in 2015
Trophy is awarded to the highest combined aggregate scores shot at the State Indoor / Field / Target & Clout throughout the year in any age group or gender competing in the longbow division. If an archer shoots in more than one division in an event, then only the highest single score from that event will be used.
